AI-Powered Translations

With Newired 24.3, we’ve introduced AI-Powered Translations to make it easier and faster to localize content directly within the Newired Portal. This feature generates AI-driven translations, providing more streamlined support for multilingual content.




How AI-Powered Translations Work

When AI-powered translations are enabled in a Site's Advanced Settings, a new section appears in the Translation page where you can initiate automatic translations. The translation process typically takes a few minutes, depending on the amount of text in your content. During this time, a spinner animation will appear on the "Translate with AI" button to indicate that translation is in progress.




Configuration Requirements

To use AI-powered translations, ensure that your Newired Server is connected to the Newired AI Service. 


Here’s how to set up the connection:

Enabling AI Features

To use AI-powered translations and other AI features, they must be enabled in Advanced Settings at the Site level:

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter any issues with the AI-powered translations, here are common error messages and solutions:




  1. AI Assistant Initialization Failed
    This message means the AI Service is unavailable or misconfigured.


  • Solution: Check the configuration in the newired.properties file and verify that the AI Service is accessible.


  1. AI Assistant is Not Ready
    This message appears if the AI Service is connected but no content has been processed.


  • Solution: Try re-publishing content in the Portal to make it available for translation.
