Editor Desktop and Remote Applications

The Newired Editor is comprised of two components: the Editor Desktop Application and the Editor Remote Application.

Upon installation of the Editor to a Windows or macOS desktop, only the Editor Desktop Application is installed, which does not require reinstallation after each Newired update to a new version.

The Editor Remote Application is continuously loaded from a Newired Server where the user is logged in.Therefore, the same Editor Application can be used to log in to Newired Servers of varying versions.

Troubleshooting

The Editor does not start after login and goes back to the login screen.

Start the Editor with the --nw-clean-resource-cache parameter.

Windows

newired-editor.exe --nw-clean-resource-cache

macOS

open /Applications/Newired\ Editor.app --args --nw-clean-resource-cache

Or just remove the folder newired_resource_cache.

Windows

C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Newired Editor\newired_resource_cache

macOS

/Users/<USER>/Library/Application Support/Newired Editor/newired_resource_cache
